AQUATIC PLANT MANAGEMENT OPERATIONS ON THE RAINBOW RIVER

FFW.png
A hydrilla treatment is scheduled for the week of September 11, 2017. The hydrilla treatment will take place on Tuesday, September 12th and Wednesday, September 13th, weather permitting. Shoreline areas from KP Hole to the Withlacoochee River will be treated with Aquathol Super-K.

The following water use restrictions will apply within treated areas:

Water from treated portions of the river should not be used for drinking, for animal consumption (livestock watering) or to irrigate annual nursery or greenhouse crops including hydroponics, newly seeded or transplanted annual crops, ornamentals or turf within (7) days of the treatment.

There are no restrictions on swimming, fishing, boating, or the irrigation of established turf, ornamental plants or crops. However, swimming activities will be restricted at KP Hole and Rainbow Springs State Park canoe area (across from KP Hole) to avoid public conflict with application equipment. Water use restrictions do not apply to the use of well or tap water.

The Florida Fish and wildlife Conservation Commission is conducting this operation in cooperation with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

If you have any questions concerning the proposed treatment please call 352-726-8622.

Sincerely,

Bruce V. Jaggers
