[ARCHIVED] Tree Board Seeks Applicants to Fill Vacancies

The City of Dunnellon is accepting applications for the Tree Board. Currently there are three vacancies on the board which will resume meetings in September. Members to the Tree Board are appointed by the City Council. Applications are due by July 26, 2013.
Tree Board members:
-- Serve three-year terms.
-- Should have experience/interest in the fields of forestry, landscape architecture, nurseryman, master gardening, certified arborists, licensed landscape contracting.
-- Responsible for reviewing residential/commercial applications for Tree Removal permits associated with site plans and preliminary plans and make recommendations to City Council; review applications for Tree Removal permits on commercial property greater than one-acre; review Tree Removal permits on waterfront, wetlands and conservation land; review applications for tree removal for harvesting trees from agricultural property; develop a written plan for the care, preservation, pruning, planting, replanting, and removal of trees on city-owned property; develop recommendations to the City Council for establishing canopy roads, arbor streets, naturescape, Tree City USA.
-- Meet at 5 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month at City Hall.
