Dunnellon Heights Road Repairs/Maintenance Update

Rock and Roll Pavers, Inc. will begin grading and filling throughout Dunnellon Heights on Monday, October 21st

DUNNELLON HEIGHTS ROAD GRADING: Due to the recent Hurricanes, the quarries have been flooded and lime rock supply is at a halt until further notice.  Once the quarries are open, we will resume grading and filling throughout Dunnellon Heights.

City Council recently executed an Agreement with Rock and Roll Pavers, Inc. to have Dunnellon Heights graded bi-annually.  Moving forward this is expected to be completed sometime in November and again in May. Further questions or concerns should be directed to Dunnellon Public Works at 352-465-8590.

Waste Management - Post Hurricane Milton Information

Waste Management has resumed operations as of Friday, October 11th. They will operate additional, but very limited collection resources throughout the week, and will continue to collect normal yard waste volumes that are properly containerized/bagged and bundled.

Waste Management's first priority is to ensure garbage recovery collection is completed, followed by the collection of normal yard waste volumes properly prepared for pick-up.  The Waste Management agreement with the City of Dunnellon does not include collection of "storm debris".

Active Transportation Plan

What is the Active Transportation Plan?
Active Transportation is human-powered mobility, such as biking, walking, or rolling. Marion County is recognized as one of the premier areas in Florida for bicycling, hiking and walking, and equestrian activities. The county has an abundance of trails, open space, parks, and facilities that support non-motorized forms of transportation for both traveling and recreational purposes.

The TPO’s Active Transportation Plan will create a resource and comprehensive recommendations for improving the existing active transportation system in Marion County, including all unincorporated areas and the cities of Belleview, Dunnellon, and Ocala. In order to create this plan, an evaluation will be taken of the current non-motorized transportation network and a survey conducted of community needs. This plan will also include an analysis of the estimated economic and community benefits of non-motorized transportation in Marion County.

The Active Transportation Plan will be developed alongside the other TPO core plans (LRTP, TIP, and LOPP) by creating a specific plan that will identify project needs to support active transportation.
