About the City Clerk's Office

The Office of the City Clerk is committed to providing the highest level of service at all times. We are here to serve you. Utilizing traditional paper files as well as the clerk's Laserfiche Document Management System, our staff researches data, provides copies or printouts, and responds to your inquiries. Dunnellon City Council Meetings

The City Council workshop meetings are held the first Monday of each month, beginning at 5:30 p.m.  The City Council regular meetings are held the week following the workshop meeting on Wednesday beginning at 5:30 p.m. These Council meetings are held at City Hall, in the City Council Chambers, located at 20750 River Drive in Dunnellon.

Unscheduled Public Appearance

You may address the Council regarding items not listed on the agenda during the public comment portion of the agenda. Be sure to sign in at the podium before you enter the Chambers, providing your name and address for the public record. Limit your comments to three minutes. Note: The City Council will not take action in response to items brought forth under unscheduled public appearance but may direct staff to report back at a future Council meeting.

Scheduled Public Appearance

In order to be placed on a regular Council workshop agenda, per City Resolution #RES2023-10, you must make a written request for same to the City Clerk on or before 12:00 p.m. the Monday before the workshop meeting, together with any backup material the speaker wishes the Council to consider.  In order to be placed on a regular Council meeting agenda, you must make a written request on or before 12:00 p.m. on the day of the workshop meeting, together with any backup material the speaker wishes the Council to consider. The request should state who wishes to appear, their address and phone number, the specific topic or issue to be addressed, and any supporting information which may be relevant. Council may take any appropriate action on items scheduled on the agenda.

Agenda Items & Actions

There are two types of agenda items presented to Council:

  • Information only
  • Appropriate action: No action, postponing action, taking action as recommended by staff, taking action as proposed by any councilmember. All actions require a majority vote of the Councilmembers present. A minimum of three Councilmembers must be present for Council to transact City business. Some Council actions require formal documentation beyond inclusion in Council meeting minutes.
    • Resolutions - A resolution grants authority to perform an action, such as creating a policy or procedure, or authorize a fee.
    • Ordinances - An ordinance is an amendment, deletion, or addition to the Dunnellon City Code. In other words, it is a City law or statute.
