CURBSIDE COLLECTION SERVICES

Waste Management is proud to be your environmental solutions provider.  Their enhanced curbside collection program features new 95 gallon carts for trash collection service.  Their trucks will use automatic lifting arms to empty your cart, making collection efficient and safer for our community and their drivers.  

Help prevent truck fires and DO NOT place items such as lithium-ion batteries, oil, pool chemicals, propane tanks or hot coals in your cart. 

Proper Cart Placement 

Place your cart at least 3 feet away from any obstacles (trees, cars, mailboxes, etc.) to allow the automatic arm to lift and empty the cart.  Place wheels of cart toward the house.  

COLLECTION SCHEDULE
Effective October 14, 2024
All items must be curbside no later than 6:30 a.m. on collection day. 

Trash Cart:  

  • Bagged materials should be placed inside the cart. 
  • Customer-owned containers will not be serviced. 
  • Carted trash collection will occur on Monday and Thursday
  • Items outside the cart will only be collected on Monday. 

Yard Waste:

  • Items such as small branches, grass clippings, and trimmings should be placed inside your trash cart. 
  • Loose yard waste piles including tree trunks, stumps, and limbs shall not exceed four (4) feet in length, six (6) inches in diameter, and must be neatly tied and stacked at the curb.
  • Yard waste outside the cart will be collected on Monday. 

Bulk Waste:

  • Customers must contact City Hall at 352-465-4500 to schedule collection for items such as furniture or appliances. 
  • Scheduled bulk waste will be collected on Monday. 

If you would like your personal container removed, please place it curbside on Monday, your Bulk Waste collection day.  To ensure removal, please tape a note to it stating "PLEASE REMOVE CONTAINER". 

 HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

There will be no collection service on the following Holidays:

New Year's Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving
Christmas

If the Holiday falls on a collection day, the collection  will be delayed by one day.

Regular Pick-Up Rates

Regular trash pick up service is billed through your water account. The service begins automatically when you set up your water service with FGUA.  You can reach them at 877-657-8889.

To arrange for special service please call City Hall at 352-465-8500.  The fee will be charged to your regular monthly utility bill.
