City Council Elections
This information is intended to familiarize candidates with information for City Council seats in the City of Dunnellon, and campaign treasurers with their duties and responsibilities under Florida’s election laws.
All documents necessary to qualify for the November 8, 2022 Election, including the financial reporting dates are included in the information provided on the Election Schedules & Qualifying Information page. All requirements prescribed by statute and included in this material are subject to change by the Florida Legislature. If changes do occur, we will notify each of the candidates.
We would like to congratulate the candidates on taking an active role in the electoral process. We are ready to assist whenever we can.
It is our hope that this material provided in the Qualification Package will be a helpful reference to the candidates, as well as the citizens of Dunnellon.
Qualified Elector
In order to be eligible to serve as a City Council person you must be a qualified elector of the City and residing within the city limits at the time of your election.
Any persons who shall possess the qualifications requisite for an elector at general state elections and shall have resided in said City of Dunnellon, Florida, and shall have registered in the municipal registration books as prescribed by ordinance shall be a qualified elector of the City of Dunnellon at all actions held therein; provided that state or county registration shall not be required to qualify as an elector to vote at any election in said city, and further provided that no person shall vote in any bond election held in said City who is not a qualified elector therein.
