Pet Licensing Regulation

The City of Dunnellon Code of Ordinances Sec. 14-61 requires that, except as otherwise provided, no person shall own or harbor a dog or cat within the City limits without paying an annual license fee to the City each year.

All dogs and cats over the age of three months must be vaccinated against rabies and an annual re-vaccination as recommended by the Animal Rabies Vaccine Compendium of the National Association of State Public Health Veterinarians, be given.

Licensing requires the owner present evidence that the animal is currently immunized against rabies before a license may be issued. A rabies tag will not be accepted as proof of immunization.

Official City Pet Registration Tags must be obtained from City Hall, 20750 River Dr. Dunnellon, FL. You may download the application and submit the application in person at City Hall, along with proof of rabies vaccination.

Cost of Tags

The registration tag cost is $7.50 for a sterilized pet (spayed or neutered) and $15.00 for unsterilized.
